Playing with Corel Painter X

In the quest for the perfect medium for an upcoming children’s book project, I’ve been playing with a trial version of Corel Painter X this month. So far, I’m impressed. I had always been happy with Photoshop’s ability to work with my tablet, and I assumed the differences between PShop and Painter were minor. I was wrong! Painter’s ability to emulate real-world media has quenched my desire for a digital method for making textured, imperfect images with a natural, un-digital feel.
